You can now access your QuickBooks Desktop company file from any Mac computer, as long as it is synced to the same iCloud account and has QuickBooks 2019 for Mac installed. This enables you to leave your work computer and pick up right where you left off at home, or vice versa, with any changes to your company file automatically synced.

Here’s what you need to know:

  • To enable access from multiple computers, all Macs must be logged into the same iCloud account.
  • Make sure your QuickBooks file is being shared via iCloud Drive.
  • Note that iCloud’s Desktop & Documents Folders automatically shares the contents of your Desktop and Documents folder via iCloud Drive.
  • The iCloud Document sharing feature is intended to be used as a means to easily share and work on a QuickBooks company file on one machine at a time. It isn’t intended to allow work on two machines simultaneously.
  • If changes are made simultaneously on two machines, QuickBooks lets you know that it has detected a conflict. Choose which version of the company file you’d like to keep. You can then continue with your work!
